Angels From The Realms Of Glory
Read Luke 2:8-12; Job 38:4-7
Luke:
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Job:
4 “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone –
7 while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?

We are told that the angels sang for joy at the creation of the world. Now God sends them to announce the good news salvation of God’s fallen creation in the promised Savior! How does your creation and this created world give you joy? How does your salvation from sin give you joy?
The shepherds were afraid when the angel came to them and the glory of heaven shown down on them. Why were they afraid? How are you like those fearful shepherds? What good news from the angels replaces our fear with peace?
